<p>The National Galleries of Scotland Bill Committee is seeking your views on the general principles of the National Galleries of Scotland Bill. </p>

<p>The Bill was introduced to the Parliament on 25 June 2015.</p>
<p><strong>Aims of the Bill</strong></p>
<p>The Bill aims to—</p>
<ul>
<li>Dispose a piece of land owned by the City of Edinburgh Council from Princes Street Gardens to the Board of Trustees of the National Galleries of Scotland </li>
<li>Change the status of that land to allow for the construction of an extension to the Scottish National Gallery </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>National Galleries of Scotland Bill National Galleries of Scotland Bill Committee consideration</strong></p>
<p>The Committee will take evidence at Preliminary Stage in October and is likely to report on the Bill’s general principles in November 2015.</p>
<p>Written evidence should be submitted, if possible by Friday 16 October 2015 and the Committee will take such evidence into account in its Preliminary Stage report.</p>

<p>Before you draft a submission, please read the Parliament’s policy on the treatment of written evidence. Please also ensure that your submission is up to 4 sides of A4 and is provided electronically in word processing format (e.g. Microsoft Word or Apple pages) wherever possible.</p>
