About
Solway views
Screel Hill may rise only to a modest 344m but this rocky eminence provides a rough and rewarding walk. The stunning views over the Rough Firth and Auchencairn Bay are well worth the hard graft to get up. On a clear day you may be able to pick out some of the Lake District fells across the water.
Activities
Walking is the main activity at Screel, and the route up to the summit at 344m can be challenging. The route is maintained by Dumfries & Galloway Council and route information can be found online.
