ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Fleet Technical Reliability Operations Manager, you will provide comprehensive support to oversee and manage condition monitoring - processes, analysis, contracts, reporting and assisting in decisions being made on the basis of this data. You will seek continuous improvement opportunities in this area of activities while supporting the reliability team in the delivery of the related quality assurance initiatives.  

As  Technical Reliability Condition Montioring Analyst, you will be able to work remotely and we welcome applications from across the CalMac network. Please note that network travel and occasional travel to our head office at Gourock will be required.

 

 Principal accountabilities

  • Management of the oil analysis and vibration monitoring condition assessment programmes. Including, but not limited to; the management of contracts, receipt and review of all reports, ensuring recommendations are enacted (work included or removed as appropriate based on the output of the analysis reports). Responsible for contractor management including RAMS delivery and scheduling of annual vessel visits as per the condition assessment programmes.
  • Identifying and driving improvements to the conditioning monitoring programmes and processes.
  • Supporting the Fleet Technical Reliability Operations Manager and Condition Assessment Programme Manager with provision of leading, rather than reactive, data allowing the Vessel Reliability Meeting to consider & introduce improvement opportunities.
  • To create and manage condition monitoring dashboards in consultation with the Engineering Information Team.
  • A fleet wide review and ongoing assessment of condition monitoring activity across fleet.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering Degree
  • Recognised proficiency in Vibration Analysis technologies i.e. BINDT Cat1/2
  • Knowledge of lubrication applications, sampling and interpretation of results
  • 3 yrs. experience in a similar role preferred but not essential.
  • Previous marine technical experience (Engineering officer of the watch) or equivalent would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficient in the use of all aspects of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel essential), O365, SharePoint and PowerBI.
