Following a careful review of our fare products, we wanted to update you on changes to our multi -journey tickets and one-month season ticket products. Please note: This information has since been updated to reflect the recent deferment of our new ticketing platform, which is expected 16 May 2023. (Updated 19 April 2023)
Withdrawal of one-month season ticket
We have withdrawn the one-month season ticket on our Largs-Cumbrae, Wemyss Bay-Rothesay and Gourock-Dunoon routes. Customers who hold a valid one-month season ticket can continue to use it until 24 April 2023. As an alternative, 10-journey, single or return tickets will be available.
Season tickets are being removed because Road Equivalent Tariff (RET) has already reduced the cost of ferry tickets, and Transport Scotland rules state that we cannot apply any additional price reductions on non-concessionary travel. Local communities have been kept informed about this throughout the withdrawal period via stakeholders such as ferry committees and community councils. Gourock to Dunoon is a non-RET route, however a consistent and fair approach across all routes must be applied.
Multi-journey tickets which will transition to a new format
The following tickets will remain available to purchase via our current and new ticketing platforms, however the format will vary slightly when transitioning from one system to the other. The table below details the key dates you need to be aware of.
| Products transitioning to new format | Routes affected | Current format on sale until | Current format valid until |
|---|---|---|---|
5-Journey Flexi Ticket | Largs-Cumbrae | 11 May 2023 | End of 15 May 2023 |
10-Journey Flexi Ticket | Wemyss Bay-Rothesay, Colintraive-Rhubodach | 11 May 2023 | End of 15 May 2023 |
10-Journey Ticket | Gourock-Dunoon Gourock-Kilcreggan | 11 May 2023 | End of 15 May 2023 |
How the transition of multi-journey tickets will affect you:
Customers holding multi-journey tickets are advised to use any remaining journeys on or before the valid until date shown above.
Multi-journey tickets will then be available to purchase as soon as our new ticketing platform goes live. We will keep you informed as we move closer to the go live period of the ticketing platform on 16 May 2023. You can stay up to date be visiting our dedicated information section, here on our website.
When our new ticketing platform launches, you will be able to purchase 10-journey tickets online, in digital form issued via email and accessible through your online account. They will also remain available as a paper ticket issued by a port or vessel. Customers won't be able to purchase 10 journey tickets as concessions, or blue badge vehicles, for pets or equipment.
The price of multi-journey tickets will remain the same when our new ticket platform launches.
