Accessibility

We want to make our services accessible to everyone who could benefit from them, irrespective of any disability they may have.

Our website is managed by Scottish Enterprise. Scottish Enterprise are committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. This website is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, with the exception of any found issues listed on this page.

This statement was prepared on 30 March 2023. It was last reviewed and updated on 27 June 2023.

How we approach accessibility

We regularly test our websites with disabled users to identify and address any issues. We have an in-house accessibility lab and testing team, who test new features and changes to the site for accessibility issues. This website was last tested in March 2023. The test was carried out by our internal test team.

As well as aiming to build our website in a way that’s easy for all users to use and navigate, we’re also working towards making the language we use as simple as possible to understand by using plain English principles.

Accessibility problems we've found

During testing of our website, we’ve found the following problems. We have fixed some of the problems and aim to fix the remaining high and medium priority problems by July 2023.

High priority:

  • In our cookie permissions page, the opt in or out toggles don’t have a distinct hover state, so it may not be clear that they are interactive

Medium priority:

  • On our contact form, assistive technology may not show the error message associated with an individual field
  • There are a number of PDFs on the site that are missing basic accessibility features such as properly marked headings, alt text and keyboard navigation. We are continually improving how we produce our PDFs for use on our site
