About the role
This is a newly created post leading the development and operational management of a team of HR professionals and support staff providing services to the SSSC.
The postholder will provide visible leadership, management and vision for the HR function of the SSSC, work collaboratively with other members of the operational management team and support the Director of Workforce, Education and Standards in developing and delivering a cohesive HR support service for the organisation.
They will lead on the development and delivery of significant and sustainable improvements to provide a customer-focussed HR advisory and support service that is closely aligned to the business strategies and organisational values.

What you need to succeed
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- CIPD qualified.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.
- Ability to work at a senior level with minimum supervision.
- Ability to effectively lead and work as part of a team, leading and managing others.
- Able to adapt and respond positively to changing demands and situations.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Significant experience in managing HR operations across complex areas of work involving multidisciplinary professions.
- Demonstrable experience of providing strategic HR advice to senior leadership across a range of HR issues
- Significant experience of developing and implementing people management policies and procedures.
- Demonstrable experience of implementing current HR practice and employment law.
