Ardmore car park and the Shore Trail plus wider forest roads will be closed for public safety on Saturday 11 March as the Mull Rally is taking place throughout various Forestry and Land Scotland locations that day. Alternative trails remain open at Aros Park and most of the Coastal Trail leading from Garmony car park. Please follow all on site safety signage.
The ruined settlements of Ardmore and Penalbanach lie part hidden within the forest here. Visit some of these secret dwellings and enjoy magnificent views across to Ardnamurchan, Coll, Tiree and Rum.
There are lots of forest roads and tracks in the area between Ardmore, Glengorm and Quinish, ideal for cycling or long rambles. Ardmore is a busy working forest so stop and make sure you are seen before passing work vehicles and lorries.
Explore this beautiful corner of Mull, or plan your own route. The local Ordnance Survey Explorer map (sheet 374) will help you find your way.
Outside the winter months, you can visit the lovely cafés at Glengorm Castle (five minute drive west of Ardmore) and at Isle of Mull Cheese (five minutes drive east). Further facilities, including public toilets, are availably at nearby Tobermory.
There is no charge to park in this car park. Please park with care and consideration. In particular please park in designated parking areas only and do not block entrances or gates.
From Tobermory, follow the B8073 towards Dervaig and then take the turning to Glengorm on the outskirts of the town. Ardmore Forest is about 1¼ miles (2km) along this road on the right-hand side. A short droive in there is a small car park on the side of the forest road .
