Hey there,
Thanks for your suggestion! Which admin screen are you talking about exactly?
In the last iteration of Shiny Updates, we actually removed the compatibility section from wp-admin/update-core.php if the plugin is 100% compatible.
On wp-admin/plugins.php, i.e. the installed plugins page, the upgrade notice is quite simple and on the point. Here’s an example:
There is a new version of XY available. View version 1.2.3 details or update now.
Adding the compatibility notice to it would add unnecessary bloat and IMHO the compatibility info in the “view details” modal is quite clear.
Hi, I’m talking about the update page in the Dashboard. I’ve marked the area (on the plugin page) for you here so you know what I mean. I think it would make sense to have that info included in the plugins view in Dashboard, I’ve missed that since I started using WP.
I guess that’s farewell to one of the most useful indicators on this entire website. The new plugin directory doesn’t even have this on the plugin pages. That’s a real shame and it’ll make many people’s life much harder.
Although it may not be a clear indication if a plugin works but it is very helpful determining if it doesn’t. Removing this section is a mistake.
