    Having recently been on my travels again with Willow, I thought I would share some of the places we found that were dog friendly/tolerant but worth recommending

    Eating


    Aviemore - Macdui's, very dog friendly and brought Willow a bowl of water and biscuits on arrival, a big paws up for this place!

    The Black Isle - Culbokie Inn, dogs very welcome in the bar area which has an open fire and serves delicious food

    Irvine - The Ship Inn, has a large dog friendly section inside and provided a bowl of water, another nice place to eat with a big beach nearby

    Accommodation

    Evanton - The Novar Arms Hotel, a nice hotel which allows dogs and we only paid £55 for a single room (which was actually a twin) although we couldn't find anywhere dog friendly to eat in the village so headed to the Culbokie Inn above which is 5 miles away.  Also dogs not allowed at breakfast but other than that a good value choice in the area.


    Holiday

    Great recommendations @ScotlandAdventures It's a beautiful part of the country.  We visit as often as we can as hubby's from Nairn, which is another dug friendly wee town. We're back in October to stay at the Golf View so may try the inn for lunch if we head across to the Black Isle.

    Back with another dog friendly gem.  Mercure Ardoe House hotel in Aberdeenshire.  Set in a lovely leafy location approx 5 miles south of the city of Aberdeen.  we stayed last weekend to review their picnic with Mercure package.  The wee dug was spoiled rotten with his very own mini hamper.  There were several other 4 legged friends there during our stay.  Although dogs can't join you to eat inside the hotel restaurant and brasserie they're welcome in the public areas which don't serve food so you can relax after dinner with a drink and your buddy beside you. 

    I wrote this blog about our stay.  It also details some fab dog friendly places to visit in the area. 

    Wee shout out too to the ice cream van in Aboyne who gave the wee dug a free mini tub of vanilla ice cream to enjoy as it was a sweltering hot afternoon. Thank you.
