News and Performance
All about the performance of National Procurement, plus our latest news stories. More..
NSS National Procurement is the Centre of Expertise for Health established in 2005.
We buy and supply items to help keep Scotland's hospitals and health centres running. To realise benefits and to reduce risk through supply management, as Scotland's largest procurement organisation we manage over £1.4 billion in national contracts. We continually work to implement smarter processes to get better at what we do for the benefit of NHSScotland and its patients.
We are also home to the biggest public sector logistics operation in Scotland. From grounds maintenance to X-ray machines, bed linen to syringes, each year we procure and distribute millions of vital supplies that support a patient's or visitor's interaction with our health service.
From our Lanarkshire based National Distribution Centre, over 80,000 items are delivered every week to hospital wards, departments and community centres with a 98% on time, first time, in full supply record.
