SCOTLAND'S NATIONAL CHILDREN'S CHARITY

During these very challenging, frightening and uncertain times, Scotland’s most vulnerable families will be among those hardest hit. The families we support across Scotland are facing massive additional stresses and challenges as they cope with scared children at home, financial worries, growing levels of anxiety and the pressures of being cooped up together through the coronavirus crisis. Children are facing increasing risks to their safety and wellbeing.

Children 1st are determined to continue to keep children safe by providing critical emotional and practical support to children and families through our community services where it is safe to do so. Our Scotland-wide Parentline service, which is offered by phone, online and through email will remain open.

Our community-based staff are moving to deliver their vital support to families by phone, and online. They are a lifeline of calm, reassurance and support.

Where we run early years services, we are ensuring that they stay open for the most vulnerable families, in line with government advice. For some families in the most extreme circumstances Children 1st is the only support they have so we are working hard to ensure that they receive the help they need.

As well as providing one to one family support through webchat, email, or by phone on 08000 28 22 33, Children 1st’s Parentline service offers specific tips and advice for all families on its webpages.
