When you register with the SSSC you are signing up to our Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers (the Codes), so it’s important you know about the Codes and what they mean for you.

There are around 680,000 unpaid carers in Scotland. This means there are more people in Scotland who have an unpaid caring role than there are staff in social care or the NHS.

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) published the 2018 Workforce Data Report today.

The report shows that the size of the social service workforce has increased to 204,610, a rise of 1.2% since 2017, the highest level recorded since these reports began in 2008.

Our 23 Digital Capabilities learning resource has been incredibly popular since it was launched and we’ve received lots of requests from organisations to help create their own online learning using the 23 Things framework.

The SSSC and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) have produced an annual report on our partnership working for the first time.
