The successful applicant will be working collaboratively with three GP IT system suppliers, the NSS Test team, Clinicians, GP IT facilitators and other Subject Matter Experts under the direction of the Senior Service Manager.

We are looking for a NMC/HCPC Registered practitioner to join our SNBTS Transfusion Team to promote the safe and appropriate use of blood and blood components through the development of national programmes of education, associated quality improvement and clinical effectiveness initiatives. You will be one of the named Transfusion Practitioners for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHS GGC), based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QUEH), and will work closely with NHS GGC staff. You will also work with colleagues across the NHS GGC as required and nationally as part of the wider SNBTS transfusion team.  You should be able to work with limited supervision and demonstrate flexibility in delivering the requirements of the post. Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to adopt a flexible and proactive approach to problem solving is required to promote and champion this national programme at all levels. Candidates should have considerable experience in a blood transfusion, haematology or related specialty.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and should have extensive clinical transfusion experience. You will be required to travel between NHS sites and Higher Education Institutes in order to fully undertake all the duties associated with the post and as such a valid driving licence is desirable. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting safe transfusion practice and maintaining good communication channels across NHS GGC as well as supporting other areas covered by the SNBTS Transfusion Team west region. Venepuncture skills are desirable and good communication skills are essential for this role.  Experience in an acute hospital environment is desirable. This post is a 12 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position.

As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.
The Contract, Vendor and Service Management Team (CVSMT) provides expert advice and services across the National Health Service in Scotland and is part of the IT Strategic Business Unit. CVSMT is the principal point of contact between NHS Scotland and the suppliers of a range of National IT Service contracts, which embrace business and clinical systems at both national and local levels. 

NSS, on behalf of the Health Boards and Primary Care General Practice, is procuring next-generation GP IT systems, to be delivered as a centrally hosted managed service, which will be rolled out to all GP Practices across Scotland.  In order to achieve this successfully, the CVSMT is seeking to recruit a Junior Service Manager to support the Senior Service Manager and the Test Manager in the management and delivery of the specified requirements, including analysing requirements, managing changes to requirements and providing technical support to the NSS Test team. The successful applicant will be working collaboratively with three GP IT system suppliers, the NSS Test team, Clinicians, GP IT facilitators and other Subject Matter Experts under the direction of the Senior Service Manager.

You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work with health professionals in NSS, NHS boards and Local Authorities. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential.  You should have the ability to manage conflicting demands and differing priorities, and negotiate with and influence both customers and suppliers to agree timescales and deadlines.

NSS IT are seeking to recruit a systems developer to support the delivery of Business IT services for national IT Systems used by NHSScotland.

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to contribute to the provision of development and maintenance of applications within Business IT used to support decision making across NHS Scotland.  The post holder will contribute to systems, to enable access to electronic data for health professionals.

  • You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work as a member of Business IT and liaise with health professionals in NSS and NHS boards. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and a high degree of accuracy. The ability to maintain strict confidentially is essential.  You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with IT experience, a large part of which should have been providing web-based applications with proven experience in a role using a combination of Java 7, Struts 1.1, Spring 5, HTML, JavaScript / JQuery, JSP (Java Server Pages), JSTL, Maven and Oracle.
