The Scottish Infection Prevention and Control Education Pathway is a staged pathway of infection prevention and control education available to all Scottish health and social care staff and students.
The purpose of the pathway is to enable staff to continuously improve their knowledge and skills around infection prevention and control as part of their role. It comprises of 3 layers:
The foundation layer comprises of a series of stand-alone modules which provide a flexible pathway to learning, enabling learners to access a range of national HAI resources. It is based on current Standard Infection Control Precautions guidance .
The intermediate layer comprises of another series of stand-alone modules.
The Decontamination of Reusable Medical Devices (local and endoscopy) eLearning course forms part of the intermediate layer.
