Welcome to the Rules, Regulations and the Statement of Dental Remuneration (SDR) part of the Mandatory Induction Training Programme.  To be able to work as an NHS dentist in Scotland you will need to know and understand the rules and regulations that govern you.  We will highlight some of the organisations you will come into contact with and discuss how to make appropriate claims.  We will also explain the roles of the Dental Advisers and Dental Reference Officers with Practitioner Services Division.

The Statement of Dental Remuneration is a document that should be read in conjunction with the NHS (GDS)(Scotland) Regulations. It contains a scale of fees describing remuneration for care and treatment provided to patients and details of allowances. This video was orginially created for Dental Vocational Trainees and Iain regularly refers to VDPs and VT Trainers during the video however the content is pertinent to everyone working as an NHS dentist in Scotland.
