If you have been convicted of a crime in a Scottish Court and you believe that a miscarriage of justice may have occurred in respect of either your conviction, sentence imposed or both, then we may be able to review your case. Information on the application process, including what we require from you in order to undertake a review of your case, is included on this site.
COVID-19 Service Update: Applications from applicants, especially those currently in prison
- We are aware that, with the recent restrictions imposed as a result of Covid-19 it has become even more difficult for applicants, especially those who are currently prisoners, to contact us directly to discuss matters with us. We can assure you however that, if you have an application with us at the moment, you don’t need to worry – we have certainly not forgotten you.
We are still working on cases and we have continued to send cases for appeal where we can. Although our office is now open again staff are currently working both in the office and at home. We are however continuing to work on our cases and we are still welcoming new applications. We still accept calls, receive our post, and access the emailaprisoner service.
If you want to call us about your case, of course your call will be welcome and we will do our best to help. However we may not be able to give a detailed update on the phone. We can also arrange video-links with current applicants or with any prisoner who wishes to discuss making an application (and has already tried to appeal through the court) a brief phone call, providing the necessary details (name, prison number & prison) will enable us to arrange this.
Throughout the current coronavirus pandemic be assured; we are still here.
