All parliamentary business at Holyrood has been suspended as a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty The Queen.  There will be no public access to the Scottish Parliament building until further notice.

Presiding Officer to welcome King Charles III to Chamber

The Scottish Parliament will meet on Monday to consider a motion of condolence following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. 

This will provide an opportunity for Members across the Parliament to reflect on The Queen’s life of exceptional public service and her close and enduring bond with Scotland. 

The Presiding Officer, the Rt Hon Alison Johnstone MSP, will welcome His Majesty The King and The Queen Consort to the Chamber before inviting each of the Party Leaders to speak to the motion.

All parliamentary business at Holyrood has been suspended as a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone MSP said: "On behalf of the Scottish Parliament, I convey our deepest and most sincere condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family."

MSPs and staff to pay personal tributes

The Presiding Officer has signed a book of condolence for Her Majesty The Queen that is being placed at the Scottish Parliament for MSPs to pay their own personal tributes. 

The Rt Hon Alison Johnstone MSP said: "I know the pages of this book will reflect many personal tributes that Members of this Parliament will want to pay."
