The SLCC has welcomed the Regulation of Legal Services (Scotland) Bill, which was laid in Parliament yesterday.
The Inner House of the Court of Session has set out its preliminary views following a hearing about a solicitor’s non-compliance with a request by the SLCC for files and responses required to investigate a complaint.
The SLCC has today laid its budget for 2023-24 in Parliament. The organisation has confirmed that, following two years of cuts, rebounding complaint numbers and rising energy, staffing, legal and court costs mean the levy will rise by 9% to just below pre-pandemic levels.
