We recruit, train and support volunteer Panel Members who make legal decisions with and for children and young people in children’s hearings, and volunteer Area Support Teams (ASTs) who provide support and guidance to Panel Members locally. You may have heard of us being referred to as the Children’s Panel too.
Children’s Hearings Scotland is seeking new volunteer Panel Members to support infants, children and young people in communities across the country. The recruitment campaign highlights the qualities of empathy, compassion, being a good listener and the ability to build trust – qualities that have been identified as needed for the role by young people with experience of hearings.
Children’s Hearings Scotland is making it easier for children and young people to give feedback on their experiences of hearings – whether good or bad. We've created a new feedback portal, are trying new ways to encourage feedback, and are recruiting a Feedback and Complaints Officer.
